Tejo dalam album Syair Dunia Maya menampilkan geguritan, semacam puisi berbahasa Jawa sebagai lirik. Dalam geguritan, kata dipilih dan disusun untuk membentuk kalimat yang enak diucapkan dan nyaman didengar.
Simak lirik lagu Hujan Deras: "Udan deres wor tinretes waspo/ pangrantese tangis ngeleb pipiku" (Hujan deras dengan air mata/Butir-butir tangis di pipiku). Bunyi konsonan s pada deres, tinretes, dan lainnya menimbulkan efek bunyi yang renyah. Sebagai dalang, Tejo terbiasa berolah kata. Keterampilan olah kata itu diperlukan dalam suluk atau dialog dalam pentas wayang.
Selain itu, geguritan juga mempertimbangkan ritme sehingga jika dibacakan akan menimbulkan efek musikal. Lewat geguritan, Tejo tidak mengejar penyampaian makna harfiah lirik. Geguritan ingin dijadikannya sebagai bagian integral dari musik.
Lirik dalam bentuk geguritan disampaikan dalam paduan suara perempuan yang mengingatkan pada lagu-lagu dolanan yang mengawal suara Tejo. Musik menggunakan gaya klothekan, permainan bunyi-bunyian yang cenderung perkusif. Simak intro pada lagu Hujan Deras yang dibuka dengan bunyi semacam xilofon yang mengingatkan pada bunyi saron. Kemudian disambung dengan bas dari Bintang Indrianto yang dimainkan secara perkusif pula. Seksi gesek muncul sebagai pemanis komposisi.
Lagu lain seperti Melati juga ditampilkan dengan pendekatan serupa. Instrumen tiup berupa saksofon sopran, alto, dan tenor juga diperlakukan sebagai bagian dari klothekan tadi. Kecuali pada lagu Syair Dunia Maya yang agak melodik.
